The Rada's first autumn session

On September 6, Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada held its first meeting after the summer holiday.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko addressed the parliament with his annual message on domestic and foreign policy.

Also, lawmakers gave their consent to the arrest of notorious judge Mykola Chaus, who was accused of bribery early in August this year. He was not arrested at that time because of his judicial immunity.

Currently, Chaus' whereabouts are unknown, but information from the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office reports he has taken refuge in Russian occupied Crimea.
