Hundreds of fans met Ukrainian Paramympic Team at Boryspil airport
Hundreds of fans overnight Thursday greeted at the airport Boryspil the first group of Ukrainian athletes who won third place in the medal standings of the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
People carried posters honoring the athletes and flowers.
After the official spoke, with Youth and Sport Minister Ihor Zhdanov, head of the National Committee Artur Palatnyi and chief of the National Paralympic Committee Valeriy Sushkevich among them, the Ukrainian artists performed before the athletes.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Ukrainian team won 117 medals, including 41 gold, at the Paralympics 2016. This result allowed Team Ukraine to take the third place in the medal standings of the Games, with China becoming a winner and the United Kingdom taking the second place.
