Beaches closed in Turkey: sharks attacked seashore

For the first time over 30 years

For the first time over several tens of years, a big number of sharks appeared at the western seashore of Turkey. The state of emergency forced local resorts to correct their programs, according to RBC.

A particularly unpleasant situation takes place at Bodrum and Marmaris, which have been popular among tourists. Tens of beaches were closed there, with red flags marking the ban to swim.

According to the information of local rescuers, the sharks have provoked a real panic among tourists. Authorities are trying to calm people down, explaining that the sharks of this species attack people very rarely, and the situation is not as bad as it seems.

At present, scientists have not discovered as yet why sharks appeared at the Aegean Sea shores, where they have not appeared for over 30 years.
