Tymoshenko "calms down" Baloha saying his chief must not be concerned

PM about draft law on impeachment

A facilitated procedure of impeachment will join into force after the regular presidential election, and will not concern incumbent President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko claimed this to a press conference in Kyiv today.

According to her, she studied the contents of the draft law on amendments into the Law on Constitutional Court of Ukraine, which stipulates facilitation of the procedure of presidential impeachment.

“I believe the Presidential Secretariat must not be anxious about these draft laws, because, taking into account the current level of [people`s] confidence in different politicians, it will not concern our President. The new procedure of impeachment will concern future Presidents”, the Prime Minister stressed.

At the same time she positively assessed provisions of the draft law.

“Any President, whoever be elected, must never believe that he/she will not be responsible for violating the Constitution, for breaking laws, and for colossal corruption”, the Prime Minister stressed.
