Lutsenko to sue Bild, which published story about drunken incident

“No references to documents or real officials...”

Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko claims that he will sue Bild newspaper (Germany), which published a story about a drunken incident that allegedly happened to him in Frankfurt.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he claimed this to a news conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.

“My lawyers are preparing a suit against Bild”, Yuri Lutsenko said.

According to him, the publication does not contain “any true things, any references to documents or real officials”.

According to Yuri Lutsenko, next day after the incident, representatives of German police refuted the information of Bild that as if he and his son had been drunk.

However, the newspaper neglected this fact, the Minister stressed.

As UNIAN reported earlier, according to Deutsche Welle, referring to Bild newspaper, Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko spent half a day in a police station at Frankfurt airport. The Minister and members of the Ukrainian delegation in a state of acute alcohol intoxication were detained by police. According to Bild, the plane captain refused to take off with such drunken passengers. In response, Lutsenko allegedly "took offense, started shouting and hurling his mobile phone." Police had to detain the passengers, one of whom, the 19-year-old son of the minister, Alexander, was allegedly incompliant and as a result was handcuffed, media reported.
