Ukraine to develop relations with NATO, but issue on membership in Alliance removed from agenda – Hryshchenko

Foreign Minister of Ukraine...

Ukraine will continue to develop relations with NATO, but the issue concerning membership in the organization is removed from the agenda.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Konstyantyn Hryshchenko said this during his speech at the 11th interdepartmental session on issues concerning coordination of activity of executive power bodies in foreign relations field.

K. Hryshchenko reminded that an idea of membership of Ukraine in the Alliance is not supported by majority of Ukrainians and destructively influences efficiency of the foreign policy of Ukraine. Taking into account these factors, Ukraine will continue to develop its relations with NATO, but the issue on membership in Alliance removed from the agenda.
