President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will submit to the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's Parliament, a bill introducing criminal liability for "button-pushing", i.e. casting votes for absent MPs, said Presidential Envoy to Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk.

"So far I can guarantee that in the near future, the president will submit a bill providing for criminal liability for non-personal voting," Stefanchuk told RBC-Ukraine.

The official added that the electronic voting system operating in the Rada had become obsolete back in 2012, that is, it has been working for the past seven years without due certification.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Stefanchuk announced bills that were yet to be submitted, introducing liability for MPs' tardiness and voting for legislation amid a conflict of interests.
