“The launch of FTA between Ukraine and the EU on January 1, 2016, as well as Kazakhstan’s membership in the WTO will provide additional opportunities for the strengthening of trade-economic cooperation between our countries,” said Poroshenko, commenting the completion of negotiations on Kazakhstan’s accession to the WTO.

The parties exchanged experience in the implementation of reforms in their countries.

Petro Poroshenko and Karim Massimov discussed a series of infrastructure projects that may involve Ukrainian producers. In particular projects in construction, mechanical engineering, oil and gas and agriculture industries.

The parties also discussed diversification of gas supply to Ukraine.

Special attention was paid to the broadening of transport infrastructure for the transportation of cargo from Asia to Europe across Kazakhstan and Ukraine. It goes about the project in the framework of the Silk Road Economic Belt along the route Western China - Western Europe.

Karim Massimov congratulated Petro Poroshenko on his first official visit to Kazakhstan.
