The Poroshenko Bloc has nominated Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Groysman for prime minister, Viktoria Siumar, the deputy chairperson of the parliamentary faction of the People's Front led by incumbent Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, told reporters on Thursday afternoon.

In her words, the meeting of the parliamentary factions' leaders is still under way.

"While introducing the candidate, the Poroshenko Bloc faction's leader said that they had been considering a government of technocrats as an option, but they were not sure whether it would score enough votes. Accordingly, they suggested options of a party-based government, which could be headed by the Poroshenko Bloc's nominee, Volodymyr Groysman," Siumar said.

In her words, "we, as the People's Front, accept this proposal and express our gratitude to the partners for announcing this proposal in the end."

At the same time, Siumar said that the People's Front would like to see the new government's "action plan or the wording of the [parliamentary] coalition agreement, which is fundamentally important."

She also reported that her faction would meet on Monday, March 28, to discuss its nominee for prime minister, basic provisions of the coalition agreement and the government's program of action.
