Ukrainian media consultant Oleh Khomenko was kept out of Belarus on March 20.

Member of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Freedom of Speech and Information issues, member of the BYUT-Batkivshchyna faction Andriy Shevchenko disclosed this to BBC Ukrainian.

He said that the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Freedom of Speech and Information issues demands from the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine to express a protest against action of Belarus.

“We demand from the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine to estimate actions of the Embassy of Ukraine in Belarus, which did not help O. Khomenko, and express a protest against actions of Byelorussian border guards”, - said A. Shevchenko.

According to the words of O. Khomenko, he went to Belarus in order to consult a local publishing house.

He also said that an employee of the Embassy of Ukraine in Belarus said him by phone that he could not help him.
