Durytska was interrogated by Russian investigators for three days and kept under house arrest. Nemtsov’s friends helped her to remain connected with the outside world after her cell phone was seized by the Russian authorities, according to Ukraine's TSN news agency, Ukraine Today reports.

In an interview with Russian independent TV channel Dozdh on Monday, Durytska said that she did not know the reason she was being held in Russia and that she was desperate to get back home as soon as possible due to her mother’s anxiety.

Meanwhile, according to a report by Russia’s Izvestiya newspaper, investigators are seriously considering that there might be a connection between Ukraine's Secret Service or a pro-Ukrainian Chechen fighter and the murder. Kremlin TV propaganda channel LifeNews has been speculating that Nemstov might have been killed due to his being part of a jealous love triangle.
