Petition to President Poroshenko on legalizing gun posession gains 25,000 signatures / Photo from UNIAN

"It is necessary to supplement Article 27 of the Constitution of Ukraine with Part 4 as follows: "Every citizen of Ukraine has the right to free possession of firearms to protect his life and health, housing and property, life and health of other people, constitutional rights and freedoms in case of usurpation of power, attacks on constitutional order, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," the petition says.

The petition was submitted by Ukrainian Gun Owners Association titled "To legally approve the right of Ukrainian citizens on protection."
