One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in action amid the war in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, on Friday, January 11.

"A member of the Joint Forces was wounded as a result of illicit shelling by Russian-led forces," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said in an evening update as of 18:00 Kyiv time on January 11.

Russia's hybrid military forces mounted five attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas over the period under review between 00:00 and 18:00 on Friday.

"The enemy opened fire from grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns to attack the Ukrainian military's positions near the village of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk sector. Grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns and small arms were used in the vicinity of the villages of Vodiane, Lebedynske and Hnutove (twice) in the Mariupol sector," the update said.

The Ukrainian army continues adhering to the ceasefire.

"The situation in the JFO zone is under control of the Ukrainian military," it said.
