The situation in the zone of the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions remains tense, wrote the press center for the ATO on Facebook on July 28.

At midnight, militants started a 30-minute shelling with 152mm artillery on Ukrainian positions near the village Kurdyumivka of Donetsk region from the direction of the occupied village of Horlivka. Almost simultaneously, at 01:40 Kyiv time, the shelling started on several positions of the ATO forces. The tank fired near the Mayske, , 120mm mortar shells were fired in the area of Avdiyivka, and 122mm artillery - near Opytne. Afterward, 122mm mortars were fired on the Ukrainian positions near Maryinka.
It is also noted that at 16:20 Kyiv time the armed gangs intensified their activity near Schastya. For several hours they have been firing 82mm mortars, and also a tank has been firing on the ATO forces in the direction of Melova Hora.
Militants also opened harassing fire on the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Stanytsya Luhanska, Pisky, Krasnohorivka, Opytne, Avdiyivka and Mykolaevka.
Enemy sniper was active near Novomaryivka, Maryinka, and Luhanske.
The headquarters noted that the Ukrainian military have been holding firm defense and returned fire against combined Russian-terrorist forces, using arms, not prohibited by the Minsk agreements.
