Militants attack Ukraine 42 times in last day, continue using heavy weapons

Combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 42 times in the past 24 hours, including 27 in the Mariupol sector, 12 barrages in the Luhansk sector, and three in the Donetsk sector, according to the press center of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.


In the Mariupol sector, the enemy continues using heavy weapons. In particular, the militants fired 122mm artillery systems on the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Lebedynske, Vodiane, Shyrokyne and Pavlopil. The enemy fire in Vodiane was intensified by shelling from 152mm artillery systems, and in other areas – with the use of 120mm mortars. The occupiers also fired from tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and mortars on the Ukrainian positions in the towns of Krasnohorivka and Maryinka.

Occupying forces violate ceasefire 21 times FridayIn the Luhansk sector, Russia's hybrid military force fired 152mm artillery systems on ATO forces near the village of Novozvanivka, machine guns and grenade launchers of various systems near the village of Novo-Oleksandrivka, as well as small arms in the village of Stanytsia Luhanska.

In the Donetsk sector, Russian-backed mercenaries used 120mm and 82mm mortars, rocket-propelled grenades and small arms against ATO forces in the village of Zaitseve. In addition, the enemy fired small arms and rocket-propelled grenades near the town of Avdiyivka and the village of Novhorodske.
