US ready to provide $1 bln in loan guarantees to Ukraine

During the call, Poroshenko expressed his gratitude for U.S. participation in military exercises with Ukrainian troops and thanked Biden for his personal contribution to the implementation of this initiative.

"This is a new and important page, which has proved the strategic level of the partnership between Ukraine and the United States," Poroshenko said.

The two sides discussed further actions in the field of defense, particularly with regard to further assistance to be provided to Ukraine, read the report on the Ukrainian president’s Web site.

As well as offering the loan guarantees, Biden reported on plans for funding for projects to provide humanitarian assistance to internally displaced persons and victims of the war in the Donbas.
