U.S. President Barack Obama spoke by telephone with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, Reuters reported citing the White House.

Obama and Putin discussed Ukraine and efforts to reach a political solution to the crisis in Syria, White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters in a briefing aboard Air Force One.
