Clashes erupt outside parliament amid rally of miners, veterans of war in Afghanistan
Clashes between law enforcers and the participants of the rally of miners, Chornobyl victims and veterans of war in Afghanistan took place near the central entrance to the building of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, on June 19, 2018.
The protesters broke through directly to the building on the Constitution Square, an UNIAN correspondent reports.
Now the crowd is right on the steps of the entrance to the parliament. Participants of the rally used truncheons and tear gas against law enforcement officers.
A skirmish is taking place between the protesters and law enforcers. Participants of the protest are trying to break through to the building.
They demand to cancel the monetization of benefits for travel, increase compensation for disabled veterans to 6-8 subsistence minimums in accordance with the disability group, and allocate over UAH 6 billion for the development of coal industry.
