Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko believes an attempt to dismiss him from the post of Head of the Kyiv City State Administration is "anti-constitutional" and "non-democratic".
The statement came during a Kyiv briefing on Wednesday, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on July 24, Head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's presidential administration Andriy Bohdan sent a letter to Minister of the Cabinet, Oleksandr Saenko, with a request to submit a motion to dismiss Vitaliy Klitschko as head of Kyiv City State Administration.
The then-deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ruslan Riaboshapka said: "In accordance with Law of Ukraine 'On local state administrations,' heads of the local state administrations are designated by President of Ukraine upon submission of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for the term of the cadence of President of Ukraine."

He recalled that Klitschko had been appointed by the former president of Ukraine as the head of Kyiv City State Administration in June 2014.
"Accordingly, the prime minister must fulfill a requirement of the law and make a submission on the dismissal of the head of Kyiv City State Administration," Riaboshapka said.
On Aug 28, Klitschko's press service reported that a multi-partisan group of deputies of Parliament's previous convocation appealed to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to provide a formal explanation of the Basic Law in terms of local government functions and state power in the country's capital.
Today, Sept 4, the Cabinet of Ministers, Ukraine's government, greenlighted the motion on Klitschko's dismissal from the top post at the Kyiv City State Administration and submitted it to the President's Office.
