The lower house of the Brazilian parliament voted to impeach the country's president Dilma Rousseff, with two-thirds of the votes, required under the constitution. Brazil's ruling party has already admitted defeat in the election.
On Sunday, about 25,000 people -- both supporters of Rousseff and her opponents -- gathered outside Congress in the country's capital Brasilia to monitor the voting process. In order to avoid clashes and acts of violence, the opponents were divided by a two-meter fence.
