According to the document, citizens without face masks or respirators in public places (in particular on public transport) will have to pay a fine worth from UAH 170 (US$6) to UAH 250 (US$9).

The law aims at preventing the spread of the coronavirus. The document is designed to help enhance citizens' social responsibility and protect their health and life. It is also expected to help reduce the number of coronavirus cases, which will help prevent an uncontrolled increase in the number of COVID-19 patients and the overload of healthcare facilities.
