The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine has recorded over 250 ceasefire violations since the start of the newly-agreed truce in the Donbas zone of hostilities.

"Following agreement reached at the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on July 22 regarding additional measures to strengthen the ceasefire, from 00:01 on July 27 until the end of the reporting period, the SMM recorded a total of 251 ceasefire violations, both in Donetsk and Luhansk regions (including 45 explosions, two projectiles in flight, three illumination flares and 201 bursts and shots of small-arms fire)," the OSCE SMM said in a daily report on August 5, 2020.

As UNIAN reported earlier, participants in the Trilateral Contact Group (Ukraine, Russia, OSCE) on the peace settlement in Donbas on July 22 agreed on a complete and comprehensive ceasefire on the contact line from 00:01 on Monday, July 27.

The new ceasefire regime was enforced at 00:01 Kyiv time on July 27.

However, the Russian Federation's armed formations continue to provoke the Ukrainian military in defiance of ceasefire agreements reached.
