The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the world exceeded 39.3 million patients as of October 17.

The highest death toll was recorded in the United States (218,599 people), Brazil (153,214), India (112,998), Mexico (85,704), the United Kingdom (43,519), Italy (36,427), and Spain (33,775).

The countries most affected by the coronavirus pandemic include the United States (8,050,140 confirmed cases), India (7,432,680), Brazil (5,200,300), Russia (1,376,020), Argentina (965,609), Colombia (945,354), Spain (936,560), and France (876,342).

As many as 189 countries have been affected by the virus.
