Supreme Allied Commander Europe change of command ceremony

U.S. Army Gen. Curtis Scaparrotti took over the post of Supreme Allied Commander Europe from Philip Breedlove.

A change of command ceremony was held on Wednesday outside the Headquarters of the Allied Forces (SHAPE) in Mons (Belgium), with the participation of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Philip Breedlove, who was leaving the post of Supreme Allied Commander Europe, and his newly-appointed successor Curtis Scaparrotti.

Flag bearers brought in all the flags of NATO member states, the youngest officer handed a SHAPE flag to Stoltenberg, and then the secretary general gave the flag to Scaparrotti, as a symbol of a change of command.
