Europe Day in Mykolaiv

Mykolaiv's Soborna Square became the venue for the celebration of Europe Day in the city. Prior to the event, there was a Europe march along the adjacent Soborna Street. Teams of students from Mykolaiv colleges and universities representing European countries formed columns of the parade. All the 28 European Union member states were represented in the march, according to local newspaper NikVesti. The participants impressed the public with the variety of characters: one could meet French mimes, Portuguese football players, Maltese knights on horseback, Greek Muses, British snobs and Redbeard Irishmen.
