David Cameron's last day as Prime Minister

Outgoing British Prime Minister David Cameron spoke for the last time in the House of Commons as head of Government.

Deputies of the House of Commons have met Cameron with applause. David Cameron supported Theresa May, who is now preparing to take take over the prime minister's office.

As the BBC reports, Cameron will later come to Buckingham Palace to submit his resignation to Queen Elizabeth II.

The outgoing prime minister has posted on Facebook a farewell photo with the Mouser at 10 Downing Street in London - a cat named Larry, who is to remain at his "post" after Cameron's resignation.
