Judge accused of bribery keeps money in glass jar

Agents from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau on August 9, 2016, caught red-handed notorious judge of Kyiv's Dniprovsky district court Mykola Chaus accepting a US$150,000 bribe (over UAH 3.7 million).

The corrupt and resourceful judge kept his money in glass jars, not trusting Ukraine's banking system.

"Material evidence has been seized from the site where the bribe was handed over. This is how some servants of Themis hoard their illegal income," Deputy Prosecutor General and chief of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office Nazar Kholodnytskyi said following the raid.
