Agricultural production in Ukraine almost 10% down in eight months

Both agri-businesses and private farmers reduced production.

Agricultural production in Ukraine in January-August 2020 decreased by 9.8% compared to the same period last year.

This was reported by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Which sectors see the steepest decline

In particular, agri-businesses reduced production by 14.3%, while private farmers cut output by 3.7% during the reporting period.

Overall crop production fell by 12.9%, while livestock production decreased by 2.2% compared to January-August 2019.

The State Statistics Service noted that the data provided does not take into account information from Russia-occupied parts of Ukraine, namely the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and certain districts in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
