Ukraine exports almost 17 mln tonnes of grain since July

Ukrainian agrarians exported 16.84 million tonnes of grain in the new marketing year (MY, July 2020 - June 2021) as of November 4, 2020, which was 2.7 million tonnes down from November 4, 2019.

Exports

In particular, 10.75 million tonnes of wheat was exported, exports of barley totaled 3.37 million tonnes, those of maize were 2.65 million tonnes, and rye shipments totaled 1,700 tonnes.

Also, 61,300 tonnes of flour made of wheat and other types of grain was shipped abroad, which was 56,600 tonnes down year-over-year.

Background

• Ukraine's Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture and traders agreed that wheat exports should not exceed 17.5 million tonnes in MY 2020-2021, while those of rye 16,000 tonnes.
• Ukraine in MY 2019-2020 exported record high 57.2 million tonnes of grain and legumes, as well as flour onto foreign markets.
