Ukraine exports over 7 mln tonnes of grain since new MY

Ukrainian agrarians exported 7.04 million tonnes of grain in the new marketing year (MY, July 2020 - June 2021), which was 1.7 million tonnes, or 19.5%, down year-on-year (y-o-y).

The figures were reported by the agrarian department of Ukraine's Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture.

In particular, 4.4 million tonnes of wheat was exported, exports of maize totaled 570,000 tonnes, and those of rye were 1.2 million.

Also, 33,800 tonnes of flour made of wheat and other types of grain was shipped abroad, which was 15,200 tonnes down y-o-y.

Background

Ukraine in the 2019-2020 MY exported record high 57.2 million tonnes of flour, grain and legumes to foreign markets.
