Ukraine and Spain have signed a memorandum of understanding and partnership in the field of agriculture, trade and food industry.
This was reported by the Ukrainian government's press service.
Ukraine and Spain agreed to intensify cooperation in the following areas: biosecurity, seed production, development of the agricultural insurance system, land reclamation, introduction of information technologies in agriculture, expansion of bilateral trade in agricultural products, the press service said.
"Spain, as a member state of the European Union, is an important trade and economic partner of Ukraine. Further development of mutually beneficial partnership, in particular in the agricultural sector, will be facilitated by the conclusion of a memorandum of understanding. This document opens up opportunities for regular exchange of experience and best practices for the development of the both countries' agricultural sector," Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Taras Kachka said.
The memorandum comes into force from the date of its signing for a three-year period with automatic renewal for three years.
