Israel reopens flights to Kyiv with certain airlines

UIA flights to/from Tel Aviv have convenient links with popular European and eastern destinations.

The Government of Israel, based on the results of the measures taken by the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Israel, has included the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv in the list of cities to which flights are allowed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Thus, citizens of Ukraine can use flights of Ukrainian and Israeli airlines to return home, the Embassy's press service said on its website on March 11.

To date, UIA has received confirmation to operate flights Kyiv (KBP)-Tel Aviv (TLV) on March 14, 17, and 18 (two flights each), as well as one flight on March 15, and Tel Aviv (TLV)-Kyiv (KBP) on March 14, 15, 16, 17, and 19 (one flight each), as well as two flights on March 18.

"Accordingly, March 14/March 15 (night flight), March 17/March 18 (night flight), March 18/March 19 (night flight), and March 16 (night flight)," the report said.

UIA flights to/from Tel Aviv have convenient connections with popular European and eastern destinations.

"The KBP-TLV-KBP flights are linked with Istanbul, Dubai, London, Milan, Paris, Amsterdam, Tbilisi, Baku, Prague, Vilnius, Minsk, and Ukraine's regions of via Boryspil International Airport," the press service said.

It is also possible to fly from Israel's Ben Gurion Airport to Kyiv by irregular flights of El Al or Israir airlines. The detailed flight schedule can be found here.

Coronavirus situation in Israel

  • According to the resolution of the Government of the State of Israel, significant restrictions on the operation of Ben Gurion International Airport will continue to apply at least until March 20, 2021.
  • Israel has remained closed for almost a year for foreigners over the coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, in early March 2020, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had become the world's first country to actually defeat the COVID-19 epidemic.
