Ryanair to increase frequency of Kyiv-Berlin flights from Oct

The move is due to high demand from both German and Ukrainian passengers.

Europe's largest budget air carrier Ryanair says it will up the frequency of Kyiv-Berlin flights to seven times a week starting October 27.

"Due to high demand from both German and Ukrainian customers, Ryanair will be operating daily flights from Kyiv to Berlin (+3 additional flights per week) starting from October 27, 2020," the company's press service said.

It is noted that the flights would be available throughout the winter season.

Ukraine shuts borders for a month: background

  • On August 26, the government decided to close down the country's border to foreigners from August 29 until September 28 due to a spike in COVID-19 incidence worldwide.
  • On August 27, the launch of the restrictive measure was rescheduled for August 28.
  • Exempt from travel ban are foreigners studying in Ukraine or undergoing military service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine; as well as holders of temporary or permanent residence permits; those transiting the territory of Ukraine; diplomats and consuls, and a number of other categories.
