Vice-President of the World Bank Cyril Muller has said that after the shock period, provoked by the loss of part of the territory and the conflict in the east of the country, the Ukrainian economy started growing again, but insignificantly.

In an interview with ZN.UA, he said that now all international partners, which help Ukraine overcome a difficult period, are working to ensure that economic growth accelerates.

According to him, this is one of the country's key tasks to deepen the already-launched reforms so that the economy grows at a rapid pace and stabilization is noticeable not only at the macro level but also at the level of ordinary citizens.

Among most urgent issues is the reform of state-owned banks, the official believes. In addition, a more productive agricultural sector should become one of the engines of economic growth, according to Muller.

The World Bank vice president says Ukraine has a very important asset, namely considerable reserves of fertile land. According to the Bank, today there is a huge demand for agricultural products -- in particular, food products, therefore Ukraine may become one of the world leaders in the market, according to Muller.
