Infrastructure minister says Ryanair to launch flights from Ukraine in late Oct – early Nov

He earlier said that Ryanair would start flights from Ukraine's largest Boryspil Airport and Airport Lviv in the fall of 2018.

Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan says that Europe's largest low-cost air carrier Ryanair would launch flights from Ukraine's airports in late October or early November 2018.

"I cannot comment on anything before the agreement has been signed. I can say that the company will start its flights in late October or early November 2018," Omelyan told a press conference Feb 23.

He also noted that the official presentation of Ryanair flights would be held in the coming weeks. Ryanair's Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer and Company Secretary Juliusz Komorek confirmed the report, noting the details were being agreed upon.

On March 15, 2017, Ryanair announced the opening from October 30, 2017, of 11 flights from Kyiv and Lviv.

On July 10, 2017, Boryspil CEO Pavlo Ryabikin said that signing a contract with Ryanair could inflict annual damage to the airport totaling some UAH 2 billion in under-received profit. He called the contract with Ryanair financially unfavorable for the company and refused to sign it until the airport's requirements were taken into account.
