Ukraine may start building a test site for the high-speed system, using private investors' funds.
Head of the HypeUA project for the construction of a Hyperloop-type facility in Ukraine, Oleksandr Ozeran, has announced approximate costs of test site construction in the city of Dnipro.
"Work on estimates is under way. But it doesn't cost a lot of money. Now [the construction of] one km of track in Europe costs $40 million. If we speak about Hyperloop, it costs from $11 million to $17 million. The test site is half a kilometer. So, it isn't big money," he told Hromadske Radio on February 26.

Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan earlier said that the implementation of the project was split into three phases: this year the Academy of Sciences should complete a feasibility report; the second stage suggests the start of test site construction tentatively next year. It may take two years. Industrial construction will be launched at the third stage.
The Academy of Sciences, the Yuzhmash Rocket Plant, state-run Concern Ukroboronprom, Interpipe, the Kakhovka electric welding equipment plant, and others will be engaged in the project, Omelyan said.
The company that is engaged in the construction of the original Hyperloop in Mexico will be actively involved in the construction of the Ukrainian test site, he added.

A hyperloop comprises a sealed tube or system of tubes through which a pod may travel free of air resistance or friction conveying people or objects at high speed while being very efficient. The speed of such a mode of transportation can exceed 600 kilometers per hour.
