The European Commission has approved 27 programs of assistance to agricultural producers in the EU and third world countries, Russian online newspaper Gazeta.ru has reported with reference to an EC press release.
The total budget for these programs amounts to EUR 77.4 million, EUR 39 million of which will be invested by the European Union itself. Most of the programs are designed to run for three years.
The support programs cover the producers of various categories of products, including fresh and reprocessed fruit and vegetables, dairy products, delicatessen products, flowers, and some meats, including lamb.
As reported earlier, the European Commission has introduced special measures to help producers affected by Russia’s ban on imports of fruit and vegetables.
