Ukraine has been increasing grain exports annually since 2010, setting a new record in 2017.

In particular, the country exported 41.8 million tonnes of grain to foreign markets in the past year, which was three times more than in 2010 and 4% up against 2016, according to the press center of the National Scientific Center "Institute of Agrarian Economy."

However, record high grain exports in 2017 did not bring record currency earnings due to low world prices for raw materials. Profits increased only by 7%, to $6.5 billion against 2016.

Ukraine also shipped a record high amount of maize abroad, namely 19.4 million tonnes, which was 12.2% up from 2016 and 4.8 times higher than in 2010.
