Ukraine's real GDP growth in 2017 higher than previous rough estimates – statistics

Ukraine's real GDP growth in 2017 was 2.5%, which is higher than rough estimates previously had it at 2.2%, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Given the published indicator and updated estimates of the State Statistics Committee for 2016, when GDP growth (by 2.4%) was recorded for the first time in four years, the growth of the Ukrainian economy accelerated in 2017.

According to the data, the State Statistics Service revised quarterly estimates of GDP growth upwards compared to previously released rough estimates: to 2.2% from 1.8% in the fourth quarter, to 2.4% from 2.1% in the third, to 2.6% from 2.3% in the second and up to 2.8% from 2.5% in the first quarter.

It is also reported that Ukraine's nominal GDP for the year amounted to UAH 2.983 trillion, or $114.7 billion, and GDP per capita was UAH 70,210, or $1,700.

The State Statistics Committee says that the data does not include reports from the occupied areas in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, as well as occupied Donbas.
