"Signing the agreement and the protocol to it is aimed at avoiding double taxation of income of individuals and legal entities in territory of both countries. Obligations of a taxpayer from one state will be taken into account in the amounts of taxes paid in the territory of the other state," it said.

The Finance Ministry noted that the agreement would also help prevent tax evasion, eliminate tax discrimination, create mechanisms to improve cooperation between the tax authorities of Ukraine and Qatar and let them exchange tax information.
