Ukraine's state ports to be managed on concession terms only – Infrastructure minister

Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan says Ukraine's state-run ports will be transferred to management on concession terms only.

Read alsoPoroshenko signs law allowing toll road construction in Ukraine"We are considering the format when all state ports, after the adoption of Ukraine's law on concession, will be transferred to management on concession terms for 25, 49 years or for another term, depending on a particular case," he said at a briefing on March 27.

Omelyan also said the government had given up options of privatization or leasing of the ports, an UNIAN correspondent reported.

Under the Concept of Port Development, Ukraine should become a hub between Europe and Asia, and this will happen with the entry of large international companies to Ukraine that will "introduce new business processes and ensure stable cargo flows," the minister added.
