The surplus of the balance of payments in February 2018 alone was estimated at $252 million.
Ukraine saw a US$197 billion deficit of the balance of payments in January-February 2018, which was 14% down from the deficit recorded at $229 million year-over-year (y-o-y).

In February 2018, the current account had a small positive balance ($9 million). Since the beginning of the year, the current account surplus has totaled $128 million against a surplus of $152 million y-o-y.
The financial account saw a net inflow of capital in February 2018, which amounted to $243 million unlike January 2018. The NBU links this, first of all, with more active injections of non-residents' capital into state hryvnia-denominated debt securities.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the surplus of Ukraine's balance of payments in 2017 stood at $2.566 billion, which was twice the surplus posted in 2016. The balance showed a surplus for the third year in a row.
