Ukrainian gas stocks down to 7.7 bcm within week

Natural gas reserves in Ukrainian underground storage facilities (USFs) on March 24-31 shrank by 4.4%, or 354 million cubic meters, to 7.681 billion cubic meters (bcm) from 8.035 bcm.

In particular, 29.11 mcm of gas was withdrawn from storage facilities on March 31 alone, according to the state-run gas transport system operator Ukrtransgaz.

On October 26, Ukraine stopped injecting gas into underground storage facilities and began pumping it out for the smooth heating season.

Ukraine had accumulated 16.8 bcm of gas in the underground storage facilities by the beginning of the 2017-2018 heating season (October 15).
