Local budgets in February saw a surplus of UAH 4.2 billion ($159.6 million).
The deficit of Ukraine's national budget in February 2018 was estimated at UAH 9.5 billion (US$361 million), while that of consolidated budget totaled UAH 5.2 billion ($197.6 million).
The country's local budgets in February saw a surplus of UAH 4.2 billion ($159.6 million), according to the Macroeconomic and Monetary Review of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
The regulator noted that, despite quarterly tax payments and a favorable comparison base, the state budget revenue rose by a mere 7% year-over-year (y-o-y). The growth was ensured by an increase in tax revenues (by 8.3% y-o-y), in particular, from VAT.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the deficit of Ukraine's national budget in January 2018 totaled UAH 7.8 billion ($296.5 million).
The deficit of Ukraine's national budget in 2017 was estimated at UAH 42.7 billion (US$1.6 billion), which was 44.5% down from the deficit of UAH 77.6 billion ($2.9 billion) approved for the year 2017.
