Ukraine sees over US$61 mln budget deficit in Jan-Feb 2018

The country's consolidated budget over the period under review saw a surplus of UAH 15.268 billion ($581.1 million).

The deficit of Ukraine's national budget in January-February 2018 was estimated at UAH 1.616 billion, or US$61.5 million, against a surplus at UAH 1.371 billion, or $52.2 million, year-over-year (y-o-y).

The country's consolidated budget over the period under review saw a surplus of UAH 15.268 billion ($581.1 million), which was 15.1% down on the figure of UAH 17.980 billion ($684.7 million) y-o-y, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) website.

Read alsoUkraine's budget revenue 3% below target in Jan-March 2018As UNIAN reported earlier, the deficit of Ukraine's national budget in 2017 was estimated at UAH 47.850 billion, or $1.8 billion, which was 33.4% down against 2016.

The national budget of Ukraine for 2018 provides for UAH 917.9 billion ($35 billion) in revenue and UAH 991.7 billion ($37.8 billion) in spending. The budget deficit is capped at UAH 80.6 billion ($3 billion), or 2.4% of GDP.
