Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said Siemens continues litigation to prevent the launch of turbines, which were illegally delivered to Russian-occupied Crimea.

Ukrainian MP Refat Chubarov asked Klimkin during a question-and-answer session in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, what measures the government is taking to prevent the launch of four Siemens gas turbines illegally delivered to Crimea, according to UNIAN correspondent,

In turn, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said: "We are taking measures in all directions, both diplomatic and others, in order to block this and demand reaction, including additional sanctions against the aggressor country."

In addition, Klimkin said that there had been repeated appeals to the German government and the EU, as well as to Siemens, over this situation. According to him, Siemens is continuing litigation to stop the launch of turbines that were delivered to the territory of occupied Crimea.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the reports on supplies of Siemens turbines despite sanctions to power plants in occupied Crimea first came in July from Reuters citing three sources familiar with the project.

As specified by two interlocutors of RBC news agency, the equipment was made at a JV Siemens and Power Machines plant in St. Petersburg. After that, the turbines were partially redesigned at Rostec plants. This information was later confirmed by Rostec's subsidiary Technopromexport. It was this company that purchased gas turbines manufactured by Siemens from a joint venture and then delivered them to Crimea for the construction of power facilities.
