Regulator buys over $50 mln from banks in Ukraine on April 6

The value of tender applications totaled $62.7 million.

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) bought US$50.7 million from banks at a currency auction announced on Friday, April 6.

A weighted average auction rate was set at UAH 26.0477 to the dollar, whereas the value of biddings totaled $62.7 million, according to the NBU website.

Hryvnia quotations against the dollar on the interbank currency market as of 11:00 Kyiv time settled at UAH 26.03/26.06 to the dollar, dealers of commercial banks said.

The regulator in January-March replenished its international reserves by buying currency for $757 million on the interbank currency market.
