Sales of used cars in Ukraine soar by almost 80% in March

Sales of used cars in Ukraine's primary market formed by imports rose by 78% in March 2018 year-over-year (y-o-y), to 7,400 vehicles.

Cars with mileage accounted for 52% of the primary market of passenger cars, the Ukrautoprom Association's press service said.

Read alsoUkraine sees sharp rise in car output in first two months of 2018An increase in the share of used cars in the primary market is due to the fact that a lower excise rate on imports of used cars is expiring this year. It is also connected with a decrease in the average offer price of such cars, because eight-year-old cars are also subject to the reduced rate in 2018.

"In March, Volkswagen used cars ranked first among imported vehicles with mileage, they acquired 1,252 Ukrainian license plates. The Renault brand was second with 1,126 used cars, while the Skoda brand third with 696 used cars," the report said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, sales of used cars in the country's primary market in 2017 soared by 3.3 times y-o-y, to 56,744 cars.
