Business expectations in Ukraine reach 7-year high

Businesses seem to have become more optimistic.

Business expectation index among the leaders of Ukrainian businesses in the first quarter of 2018 increased to 120.6% from 115.2% in the previous quarter, having reached a maximum level since the second quarter of 2011.

As reported on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine with reference to the recent poll of business leaders, companies of all types of economic operations remain optimistic, while it's heads of processing companies who gave the most positive forecasts.

Read alsoWorld Bank expects 3.5% economic growth in Ukraine in 2018According to the survey, the respondents increased their estimates for all components across the index, including assessments of financial and economic state of enterprises, sales volumes, investment costs, and number of employees.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's real GDP growth in 2017 was 2.5%, which is higher than rough estimates previously had it at 2.2%, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Inflation in Ukraine in March 2018 slowed to 13.2% year-over-year (y-o-y) against 14% recorded in February 2018 y-o-y.
