A public opinion poll, conducted under the USAID-funded Financial Sector Transformation project in Ukraine, finds that a mere 24% of Ukrainians have savings for retirement.

Some 39% of Ukrainians consider savings in foreign currency cash "attractive," while 32% of respondents prefer cash in Ukraine's national currency, the hryvnia.
It is also noted that almost 50% of Ukrainians consider a pension worth up to UAH 5,000 ($191) per month sufficient, some 36.5% of respondents believe UAH 5,000-10,000 ($191-382) is enough, while a little more than 16% of Ukrainians say a sufficient retirement benefit should exceed UAH 10,000 per month.
